Well I’m not 60, that’s cos it’s that and counting 😂.
What I’d say though thinking about some of the other thoughts your posts pose is… “living” is something that’s personal
so if your yard stick is - how much you’ve done, measured by numbers of jobs, challenges, locations lived in, then those living experiences can be counted.
If living is something quite different like say how much enjoyment or calm you feel, that’s perhaps less easy to measure by numbers.
If you take the time to look, you won’t need to worry about blinking. 🤔
I very much appreciate your perspective! I would say i think its a bit of all of those things! Calm and enjoyment of life is something relatively new i am working on finding. I am finding that Gratitude seems to be the best route there. Ultimately my point here was that what people seem to be impressed by, comes from a place of survival, and while yes I have done many things and won plenty of trophies, that has come at the price of calm and enjoyment as you mentioned.
Sure, fully understand. I commented as I also had many work and some personal experiences in my early career / years. I also had some stable things too. I learnt after that / later in life that dealing with change / variation / uncertainty etc. felt completely normal to me, yet for others they felt the opposite. After that I learnt that the things that we really value in life aren’t always (or indeed often) what we thought was of value in our earlier years (or that they change). And dealing with these sorts of things through life is kinda what I’m trying to do on here. Hence the comment. It was a nice heartfelt post. I liked it.
