Burnout, Depression, Autism, Oh MY!

No guest this time: this is the Win The Night check-in, the real conversation Josh and I (@froydinger) usually have off camera, about what this chapter did to us and what we’re changing.

Josh lost his dad this summer, the calendar stopped, and we both finally had to face the personal stuff we’d been outrunning while we planned episode after episode. I talk about being the most stressed I’ve ever been and somehow the calmest: seasonal depression, finding out I’m likely on the autism spectrum after years of an ADHD diagnosis that never quite fit, and the moment I realized it’s not normal to hear the lights. I admit I’m addicted to burning out. Josh calls it running into the dirt.

We also go back to the fights over control that ended every project we did together before this one, why this friendship survived, what grief does to a family when a parent dies, and why you have to have the uncomfortable conversation anyway. If you’ve ever burned out doing the thing you love, this one’s for you.

Put your own mask on first.
